Travelling to Byron
FLY
All major Australian airlines are currently scheduled to fly daily from Sydney into the two closest airports:
Ballina Byron Gateway Airport (BNK)
Closest airport to Byron with flights at least once per day. Thirty minutes drive into town via rental car, shuttle bus or taxi.
Gold Coast Airport (OOL)
More frequent route with multiple flights per day. Fifty minutes drive into town via rental car, SkyBus shuttle or taxi.
DRIVE
ROUTE 1
Drive to Byron Bay via the Pacific Highway. Our trusted advisor, Google Maps, will guide you. Allow 8-10 hours from Sydney depending on your style.
STAY
Byron Bay has hundreds of hotels, hostels and holiday rentals to suit any budget. We recommend staying within walking distance of the Byron Bay Surf Club.
HOTELS
Waves Byron is a boutique hotel in the centre of town, close to the beach, great bars and restaurants. It’s 3-star motel transformed into something more chic. There’s no pool but you will be one block from Main Beach and our reception venue.
The Lord Byron is a boutique resort hotel at the southern end of town with refurbished rooms and apartments. Take advantage of its leisure facilities, full sized tennis court and outdoor pool with bar service.
The Atlantic is a lifestyle hotel set among the palm trees with a lap pool and tropical gardens. It’s a couple of blocks from town and a 7-minute walk to the beach and our reception venue.
